Smart Jelly vs Screenpipe

Screenpipe records everything. Smart Jelly remembers what matters.

Screenpipe keeps a searchable record of your screen and audio for you and your agents to query. Smart Jelly reads only text, in the apps you choose, and turns it into people, projects and what you owe.

Screenpipe covers
  • A searchable record of your screen and audio, with screenshots.
  • Scheduled “pipes”, a local API and SQL for building on it.
  • Bot-free meeting transcripts and summaries.
  • Mac, Windows and Linux; local models supported.

A record of everything on your computer — screen and audio — as a searchable history for you and your AI agents. Built for developers, knowledge workers and teams automating their work.

Smart Jelly goes further
  • Turns what you read into people, projects and promises, not a raw timeline.
  • Reads text only, in the apps you choose. Nothing is screenshotted.
  • Briefs you before calls and helps during them.
  • Closes what you owe on evidence.
  • Works as it is, encrypted on your Mac, with nothing to set up.

A memory for your working life: formed on your Mac, kept on your Mac, handed back the moment you need it.

FAQ

Smart Jelly or Screenpipe?

Still unsure? Write to us — a person replies.

hello@smartjelly.ai
Is Screenpipe open source?+

It was MIT-licensed until June 2026. Its core now uses the Screenpipe Commercial License: free for personal and non-commercial use, with a paid licence for commercial use. Smart Jelly is closed source.

Does Smart Jelly take screenshots?+

No. It reads the text apps expose for screen readers, in the apps you choose. Password managers and banking are never read.

I want to build my own agents on my history. Which fits?+

Screenpipe, if you want raw access: SQL, an API and pipes. Smart Jelly gives your AI tools a structured memory over MCP: people, tasks and mail that needs you.
